Day one to Dewey

It has been a long time in my posting on the blog. It is not from lack of wanting, it is from lack of energy. First there is work, I no longer want to work in the medical field that means that when I go to work, it is not just work it is a chore. Draining both physically and mentally, that takes a while to get over both of that. Then there are my obligations that just seem to be building and building up.

Secondly, there is the fact that until the swelling goes down in my knee I am not allowed to work out unless it is physical therapy. I have gained back all of the weight that I have lost and just feel icky. I know that I need to get better I just want it to go faster than it is. One of the things that PT wants me to do is elevate and ice my leg. Well, tomorrow is going to be a great day to do that. Tomorrow is The Dewey 24 hour read a thon.

I am so looking forward tomorrow. I have great plans on what I am going to read. I have two books started that I want to finish, one book that I have to read for a book club, and one book borrowed from a friend. That is just the start. I am hoping to get in lots of reading.

  1. One thing that really helped my knee recovery was a deep tissue massage. It not only relaxed all muscle around the knee but it also helped with the circulation which helped relieve the swelling.

Of course, having to elevate your leg and read all day is great medicine too : )

    • I would love to have a massage. I just won’t have the funds for it until next payday. Bills you know. I cannot wait to start reading.

  2. Gee, that knee has been giving you trouble for so long! I hope it heals up soon — that will make your life better!

  3. Here to cheer! I hope you’re having a great readathon so far.
    Good luck and happy reading!
